Thanks for bringing this up- ever since my mother unwisely let me read "Diary of Anne Frank" at a tender age, I have always kept a quasi-paranoid eyeball on fledging fascist movements, and this angry teabagger thing has some terrifying potential. Even on the most dissappointing days when the Dems are busy screwing something up, it's the terror of the crazies taking back over that keeps me in the ranks. If this current group did manage to get power back, like there was some cataclysm of a volcano blowing off or terrorists blowing something up here, and there ya go, the teabaggers get brown uniforms, pick your demagogue, and off we go a goosestepping. 

I have a feeling repubs/conservatards might be more efficient & disdainful of legal process than Bush/Cheney in going after their enemies. They have reduced politics & government to a set of insane beliefs in magical precepts, like the magic of "free market capitalism" to solve all out problems. So they have 2 crazy religions, the political one & the Jesus one...

When their magical ideas don't solve everything, fascists always blame internal enemies, meaning ME. YIKES- I'm a double heretic to them. I'm going back to Ireland this spring on my "English speaking countries where I could expat my ass to in a hurry if the need arises."
